This 14x18" piece was crafted by hand, showcasing bold colors and mixed media elements to create a strong visual impact with high texture detail. 
 
Here I wanted to play organic shapes against the canvas's large rectangle. So I laid down Red for the foundation, then palette knife painted with Yellow, Turquoise, Gold, and Bronze. Red came back again to cut in and cover. Finally a mottled light background was painted. 
 
The shapes remind me a bit of a lava lamp and sinking in to sit and watch the show which gets me thinking about how, whenever and however we find quiet focus and calm, we transcend the day's chaos-- and that is a very good thing. Keeping perspective-- seems to always come down to that, doesn't it?
