Charmed, I'm sure

Meet this small spider in top hat who is: Charmed, I’m Sure.

He’s a rather droll British gentleman, in all his finery, making his introduction to the gigantic charms ahead of him.

His own little leg charms are busy, his raised leg seems to be leading him somewhere, and the marks trailing off the canvas suggest that he has several important appointments to keep.

This piece has been a journey of layering, collage, texture, and a little character development. I especially love how the loose white marks over the gray background give the whole painting a sense of movement—as if the atmosphere around him is breathing.
