The Work

"Attitudinal" is a layered meditation on self-discovery and belonging. Beginning with hand-pulled gelli papers as a foundational grid, the piece evolved through multiple stages of collage, gestural mark-making, and transparent glazing—each layer revealing something new about how disparate fragments come together to form a cohesive whole.

The composition moves from bold, distinct color blocks (warm golds, deep blacks, vibrant greens, rich reds) to subtle, intimate details: a green brushstroke that cuts through the center, pale china marker lines that reward close looking, and metallic accents that catch the light. A warm, unifying glaze knits everything into a single, breathing surface—honoring each piece's individuality while creating visual harmony.

Like a well-loved quilt, "Attitudinal" celebrates the beauty of compartments that belong together.
