A Whale's Tale
2 PAINTINGS: We’ve all heard of “fisherman’s stories” about the big fish that got away. My husband and I went whale watching while in Provincetown and their quiet surfacing and gentle tail movement made a huge impression on me: how something so large could choose to make an immense impact or almost none! As I was working on this piece, adding the bright colors of Provincetown and wanting to play with fin shapes and connectors, I started to see an upturned Whale’s Tail, sweeping across both canvases! And it made me think of those fishermen and their fish tales and how these two pieces could be quite the conversational starter for one “WHALE OF A TALE!”
